Our Christmas Poem

Ric, Wiley and I hope you al had a wonderful Christmas.

Our Christmas was quiet. We've never had a Christmas without our son and it was truly different. We're happy this virus will go away soon and things will be back to normal. But for now, we'll stay home and sty safe.

Here are some of our Christmas Day Pictures.

Our 5' Christmas tree sets on our end table and makes it look like it's 8' from the outside. This is the first year for this little tree and we think it did a super job. All decorated with so many ornaments that. bring back so many memories of friends and family.

Our dinner consisted of Prime Rib, Mash Potatoes & Gravy, Peas, Rolls, Wedge salad with homemade Blue Cheese Dressing and a Pumpkin Roll for dessert,  Please note the pot with gravy in it. We decided not to use the China for the food and just filled out plates from the food on the stove. Made clean-up so easy.

We tried to get a picture of our plates, but doing a selfie made that impossible (at least in our world) so I scooted down and Ric picked up one of the end pieces of the Rib Roast. It was so funny.

Here is what our plates looked like. Please note the diet cokes....beverage of choice at our house.
It was a quiet day, but we are thankful that our family and friends are home and staying safe.
We'll always have another day
On Christmas Eve, Wiley and I wrote this poem.
We hope you like it. It will be one I read every year. He did a pretty good job.

Wiley's Story of Christmas

Was the night before Christmas

And Wiley lets me know

He’s got to do some traveling

Up North is where he’s got to go

He wants to talk to Santa

And tell him the great news

For unto us a child is born

Yes, Jesus is coming soon.

He wants to know if Santa

Could give the baby a gift

A crib Is what the baby needs

To lay his head and rest

Then Santa gives Wiley a little wink

And says “I’ll see what I can do”

Now go home little Boy Dog

And don’t cry and don’t be blue

That night as Wiley lay upon his little bed

He thanked God for all he had

And then he quietly said

God, I think the World is in need of a special gift

One that isn’t wrapped but comes from within.

God looked down at his beloved creature

So peacefully sleeping in his bed

and with a quiet whisper here is what He said

Sleep well little Boy Dog, and I’ll see what I can do.

And as Christmas morning brought it's light

There was excitement far and near

The gifts as promised all were there

Gifts to be received and gifts to be shared

The gifts of Hope and Peace and Love and Joy

All tucked within our hearts

Given to you this day

From a Little Boy born in a manager.
